Personal Information
Beulah Elaine (Cole) MacumberBeulah E. Cole-Macumber alias "Becky" lives at 310 Crestview Drive, Bonita (San Diego area) California with her devoted and loving husband Keith. He is the one who gave her the alias as he was not about to date a girl in college with the name of Beulah!! Becky is a Senior Accounting Assistant at SANYO North America Corporation where she has worked for the past 10 years. Although she would much rather be retired and traveling the US in her RV it will have to wait until her husband's consulting business earns more money than it is currently earning. She has suggested on more that one occasion that her husband should get a "real job" and make some "real money". Maybe in her next life!! When Becky is not working she enjoys attending classic car shows with her loving and devoted husband showing one or more of their 4 classic cars; a 1931 5-window Ford Coupe Hot Rod, a 1960 Austin Healey 3000 roadster, a 1955 Chevy Convertible (which many of you saw at the previous reunion and gave the car an award), and finally a 1957 Chevrolet 4-door sedan which they plan to drive to Mountain Home for this reunion. She also enjoys aerobics, knitting, and visiting with friends and family. Her goals are to obtain a 5th wheel trailer with tow vehicle and travel the US visiting all of her many friends and family members, some of which she has not seen in years. She has also threatened to take up golf but her husband is afraid that she might hurt herself so he is less than enthusiastic about that. Becky is looking forward to seeing all her "old" classmates and enjoying the festivities of the reunion.
Harris, Jacque (Bloom)Ken and I were married August 12, 1966. Ken was in the Air Force so for the first eight years we moved seven times thanks to Uncle Sam. Son Chris was born on Little Rock AFB, Jacksonville, Arkansas. Daughter Ricki Marie was born while we were at Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, Alaska. In 1974 we moved to Ken's hometown of Zephyrhills, Florida. For the next 14 years we enjoyed small town life, with the kids going to the same schools, etc. as dad. I was very active in Girl Scouting and became a lifetime member in 1987. Family, church work, PTA, P.E.O., community theater and several part time jobs kept my life full. In 1988 after both kids were on their own Ken took a job with Baxter Healthcare and we moved to the Augusta, Georgia area. I worked as a customer service representative for a small office supply and furniture store. Subsequent moves took us to live outside Chicago for several years and then it was on to a new job with Sigma Diagnostics for him and we moved to St. Louis, MO. We loved it there and I was fully absorbed in volunteer work and the St. Louis Cardinals. We attended many games and watched with awe the workings of Mark McGwire and the rest of the team. A job change for him has now brought us back to Baxter and back south. We live outside Columbus on 1.6-wooded acres. Ken travels as a Senior Field Service Engineer and I travel with him as much as I can. Son Chris lives outside Atlanta and Ricki, her husband Scott and our two granddaughters, Rachel and Kimberly, now live at Sumter AFB, South Carolina but will soon be moving to Hill AFB, Utah. For the past five and a half years my granddaughters have been a close part of my life so now I feel the "Empty Nest Syndrome" is hitting me a second time. I guess it will just have to mean many trips west to Utah along with the trips to Mountain Home where my sister and brothers remain. I am fortunate to have traveled with Ken to several foreign countries, of which my favorite would have to be England, although touring Japan several times with Ricki and Scott was a ball. Over the years I have developed a love of butterflies, poetry, tea and Queen Victoria. I collect and study those loves with the idea of linking them together. I have developed several programs and studies based on my passions that I do for various groups. That, along with the church work and other volunteer work I am driven to do, gives me a very full and blessed life. I hope to see many of you in July.
Gridley, Phil
After graduation I attended college at Boise State University with the Rose Hill gang of Chuck King, Tom Pfost, Sean Maughan, Dennis Wetherell, Jerry Nickelson, and John Tischendorf. All we wanted to do was play cards and party so off to the Army I went. One tour in Viet Nam with a ground unit and finally back to the USA and Mountain Home. I went to work at the base for 6 years and then at Gridley's Market. In 1977 I joined the Mountain Home Volunteer Fire Department. I worked my way up until I became the Chief in 1987. I had the opportunity to become the full time Chief a couple of years later which is my current occupation. I am married, with two daughters and two granddaughters. Most of my free time is spent at the golf course or with my granddaughter. I am past president of the Lion's club and have been a member of the American Legion since 1969. See you all at the reunion.
Grow, Randy
Christy and I got married in 1968 while I attended Idaho State. Graduated in 1971 and spent 11 years with American Hospital Supply Corporation moving from Boise to Boston to Memphis to Chicago to Dallas in 4 years! Left American to join a company called Caremark. Stayed in Dallas for 8 1/2 years and then left Caremark to help start a company back in Memphis called Nova Factor. We ended up being acquired by a large venture capital company and eventually went public in April of 1999. I am now Presdient of Accredo Health, Inc. (nasdaq ACDO) and the operating division called Nova Factor, a biopharmaceutical services corporation. Christy and I have two kids/adults-John is 29 and married to Katie. He and Katie have 3 year old Abbey, our only grandchild. Amy is 26 and married to Jim with no kids yet. Both live in Memphis so we get to see a lot of them and more importantly get to see Abbey. Both John and Amy graduated from University of Memphis. Actually we all did, going to University of Memphis all at same time!! Christy went back and got her degree in Sales and Marketing and I went back and got an MBA in their executive program. We have been in south so long it feels like home but still miss family, Idaho and old friends. Look forward to seeing everyone in July--
Hansen, Christy (Grow)
After graduation I first attended Boise State for a semester and then transferred up to Pocatello. Randy Grow and I were married in 1968. Our first child was born in 1971 while Randy was finishing up his undergraduate degree. That year we moved to Boise and stayed until 1979. In the next four years we moved from Boise to Boston to Memphis to Chicago and then ended up in Dallas as Randy was moving up a fast track with American Hospital Supply. We lived there eight years before we moved back to Memphis. We have now lived in Memphis a second time for ten years. In Dallas I became very busy with church work and the kids youth groups and activities and was able to work at the Dallas Apparel Mart off and on for seven years before we moved back to Memphis. I went back to school at the University of Memphis and received my undergraduate degree in Sales Marketing in 1995. It was quite an experience attending classes with students the age of my children. Randy teases that I haven't sold or marketed one thing since I received my degree. We have two children, John 29 and Amy 26. We are fortunate to say, they are both happily married and in new houses with good jobs right here in Memphis. Our son John and his wife have blessed us with a beautiful 3 year old granddaughter, Abbey. She is the light of our lives, of course. I spend most of my time doing volunteer work for the church and the Child Advocacy Center here in Memphis. In my spare time I have enjoyed learning to play golf, although I probably won't be playing with the LPGA anytime soon. Baby-sitting little Abbey and looking forward to her siblings and cousins is my favorite pastime now. I look forward to seeing all of you at the class reunion. It should be great fun with great memories.
Heaps, Rolan
After graduation from high school, I watched as many friends went off to college. I decided on what college should I go to, but, before that could happen, the heavy breathing of the draft board forced me into one giant decision: Shall I get drafted, or join? I knew because of the many visits to the base in Mtn. Home with Bill Hill that they didn't seem to work much.(just kidding) So, I joined. I worked on an airlift command post and was lucky enough to visit 34 countries during the next four years. I spent 18 months in Southeast Asia, with 11 months based in Saigon. Luckily I met an airline stewardess while floating around on Guam, and we married in 1970 after my discharge. Carol and I were married for 9 years, we had two children and from that I have two grandchildren. All live close by in the Seattle area. During this marriage, I attended college classes at Southern Utah State (where I was the college newspaper editor for a year), and finished my degree in Communications at Stanford in 1973. We moved to Tacoma, Wa. in 1974, where we stored many belongings. I was awaiting appointment to the State Department in the Foreign Service in August when the then President Nixon resigned. All hiring's were on hold, and so I embarked on a new career. I entered college at the University of Puget Sound, and finished a degree in English in 1979. After student teaching at a local high school in Sumner, Wa. I decided that teaching was not for me. This year became my crossroads or crosshairs, however it may be look at. Carol and I divorced. I met another young lady of Japanese decent, Mary. A little over two years later, we married and have been married ever since. We have two kids from the marriage, 20 and 19. Both still live at home while attending college courses locally. We reside in Renton, Wa. Mary works at a computer for the USPS. (that is code for the post office). Those little yellow adhesive tapes on your letters when you move, that is what she does). She convinced me to join the USPS (code again) which I did instead of finding a real job. I Qualified to retire last October, but, will stick it out until she retires in 5 years. I work as a Safety Facilitator covering 34 stations in Seattle. We are devoted to two interests: our church, and all the college and professional teams in Seattle. (i.e. mariners, seahawks, sonics, storm, and huskies). I hope to be at the reunion this summer.
Hill, Bill
I've been blessed with a super family. Still happily married to Mary who I got "hitched" to in 1971. We have two neat sons (Bill, 20 and Ben, 17). Earned two degrees (BS in psychology and MEd in physical education) from Colorado State University. Was at CSU from 1966-73, while I successfully avoided getting drafted. I spent 4 years in the Air Force after graduating from Colorado State Univ. with an ROTC commision. I was in the Recreation Branch, so would have been the last guy, on the last plane carrying a volleyball if we'd gone back to war while I was in. I've been in higher education since getting out of the AF in 1977. 4 years at Fort Lewis College in Durango, 7 years at Colorado School of Mines and I've been back at CSU for 11 years. I'm the Coordinator of Club Sports and direct all the non-NCAA intercollegiate sport programs (baseball, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, rodeo, polo to name a few). It's a GREAT job and we really enjoy living in Fort Collins. As much fun as I'm having working with the students, I'm looking forward to retiring in 2005 and playing golf. Keep up the good work on the web site and the reunion. Tell everyone I said HI and we'll see you in July.
Koelsch, Pat
After graduating from MHHS in 1966, I attended the College of Idaho and graduated with a BS in Biology in 1970. Upon graduation, I was drafted and spent two years in the Army, mostly in Landau, Germany. Upon being released from bondage in 1972, I entered graduate school at the University of Montana, graduating with an MS in Environmental Science (aquatic biology) in 1975. Since then, I have worked as a Fishery Biologist for the Forest Service in Orofino, Idaho and for the Bureau of Reclamation in Duchesne, Utah; Grand Jucntion, Colorado and Denver, Colorado. I am currently working for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I have a beautiful wife Cordelia (Cordy) and two children: Katherine, 17 and Kyle 12. Both are great students and involved in a lot of extracurricular activities. Katherine is into drama, skiing, and is a varsity tennis player. Kyle never met a sport he did not like. He excells at soccor, basketball and baseball. I enjoy fly fishing from my drift boat on the Snake River, golf and weekend camping and hiking outings with the family.
Lange, Wallee
After high school I attended Boise State for many years and ended up with a degree in social sciences and a secondary education teaching certificate. The next two years after college I traveled the US a little each summer and worked in restaurants the rest of the year. I moved to Southern California in 1975 and ran corporate restaurants. It was great fun, but long and hard hours! (just ask Shryock). I even owned my own restaurant in Boise for awhile. In 1979 I entered the wine and beverage industry and have been selling and marketing wine ever since. I got married to my wife Nancie and we have two wonderful children (Young Adults?). My daughter, Tiffanie, is a junior at Boise State and plans on running preschools when she gets out. She believes that by setting up a preschool to educate the young ones instead of just to entertain them you can really give them a head start in the educational process. My son Jeremy is a junior at Wood River High School here in Hailey. He loves the outdoors and spends his free time snowboarding, fly fishing, and hunting. He is in the Technology Academy at the high school doing work with computers. I really wish I had been as motivated as my kids are! Hope to see everyone at the reunion.
Long, Delores (Mittelmark)After graduation from MHHS, I attended 1 year at Boise State then married Lewis Mittelmark in May of 1967. We had a great time traveling up the Alcan Highway to Anchorage and were stationed there for 2 years. Our first child, Annette, was born on Christmas Day. From Alaska, we moved to the Minneapolis, Minnesota area where our two sons, Andre and Cary, were born. I worked in the City of Bloomington Assessing office for 15 years and enjoyed playing softball on the City team and volleyball on a neighborhood team - not competitive, just a lot of fun! February of 1990 we made a radical move to Phoenix, AZ (talk about the opposite side of the thermometer!) and were there for about seven years. While there, I worked for several real estate agents, Mayo Clinic Scottsdale, and Motorola. In 1998, Lewis' job took him to the San Francisco Bay area. After several moves, we now rent an apartment in the small town of Burlingame in the South Bay area. I never thought I would end up living in California, but we really enjoy it……except for the traffic! (and I haven't been through an earthquake yet, thank heavens.) At the end of last year, we bought a fixer-upper property on six acres in the Sierra between Marysville and Grass Valley) and are spending most of our weekends "fixin-er-up" to make it livable for retirement - if that day ever comes. The kids have been out on their own for several years now, but I still seem to be suffering from empty nest syndrome. They call almost every weekend, so that helps, but its tough being able to see them only a couple times a year. Our daughter, Annette (32), still lives in the Minneapolis area and has just announced that we are going to be grandparents for the first time, so we are really excited. She is an Educational Specialist at Medtronic. Andre (26) is installing stereo, video and navigation systems for car dealerships in Phoenix, and Cary (22) will graduate from the University of Portland next year from a 5-year engineering program on a ROTC scholarship. Then it will be 6 years in the Air Force for him. Lewis is now working as the COO for a small company which designs and programs software for other companies. (He's looking for Engineer's too, Shirley!) I'm working at First Republic Bank in San Francisco as the AA for the Senior Vice President and Manager of the new Trust Company. It's ok - helps to pay the bills, but I wish I had gone back to school 20 years ago and received a degree in biology. It would be sooo much more interesting! Wish I could be there in July, but the timing is off. We may be there later in the summer. If so, hope I see a few familiar faces wondering the streets! I'll be thinking of all of you. Have fun.
Marriage, Barbara (Young)After high school I attended UofI for one year then went to Lady Catherine's School of Cosmetology in Boise when John joined the Navy. We were married in July, 1968 while he was stationed in Newport News, Va. When his submarine home port changed in December, '68 we moved to Charleston, S.C. and lived there until December 1971. Our first, Angie (Angela Dawn) was born six months before we left the Navy. From there we moved to Phoenix where John went to school and our second was born: Bob (John Robert, IV). After Phoenix, we did 10 years penance in San Jose, California where John worked in the semiconductor industry. In 1977, our third and final child was born: Kenny (Kenneth Scott). We were fortunate to be transferred to Puyallup, Washington in 1984 where we still live. Angie, 28, has been married to Vince Cochenour for 5 years and lives 8 miles from us. They met at Central Washington University. In July '99, she delivered our first grandchild, Danielle Morgan. Bob attended the University of Michigan on a gymnastics scholarship and now coaches men's club gymnastics in Olympia where he lives. He is 26 and was married to Shelle (from Michigan) in August, '99. Kenny, 22, still lives at home and works for a company that paints houses. I am a billing manager for a Physical Therapy Company that has 11 clinics. I spend my time playing with Danielle, working, crafting, and playing with Danielle.
Pfost, Tom
After I got out of high school, I went to Boise College for a year and then got drafted. I spent a year and a half in the Army, including 13 months in Vietnam during 1969-1970. I got married in 1977 to JoAnn Trunnell, whom I met while in college, she is an elementary school teacher. I started working for Idaho Power in 1973 and am still with them . I have two boys, Joe and Tony. Joe graduated with a math degree and resides in Seattle working for a wine importer, lucky me, and Tony is attending Boise State. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the Reunion.
Shryock, GeorgeI'll start backwards. Jane and I have two boys, Doug (17) and Matt (13), and we live in Whitefish, Montana. Jane is a French teacher at the high school, and for the last 22 years I've worked as a counselor at Flathead Valley Community College. We live in a beautiful place with a ski mountain 15 minutes away and Glacier Park 30 minutes away. I moved to Whitefish to continue my life as a ski bum, and while I've been able to do that on a weekend basis, having a family and working has taken priority. Through the 1980's and 1990's we were busy establishing careers, having boys, building or remodeling homes, and etc. - you know. From high school I attended ISU, where I ran track and cross-country, and continued there until 1974, finishing my master's degree. After that, I moved to France to ski and travel, finally moving to Whitefish in 1976. John lives about 30 minutes away, and we have been partners in the restaurant business since 1983. These days our spare time is filled with the following the activities of children, skiing in the winter, and playing in the summer (having summers off is the nice thing about being in education). Jane has been on dialysis since 1991, having a failed kidney transplant about 4 years ago. Her condition has limited us somewhat, especially travel, but otherwise we've done fairly well. I still like physical training and lately I've been doing the small triathlons. We welcome company, have extra room, and would like to see old friends from high school.
Thomsen, SteveIt has been a wild ride. After high school I went to Idaho State University, managing to fit two years of class into for years of enrollment. For my effort I was invited to join the United States Army for whom I served eighteen months in Heidelberg, Germany. While I loved Germany the duty was tough. I had to stand at attention in front of the conference room at USARAR/SEVENTH ARMY headquarters when the generals went to lunch or had a meeting. There were so many of them we didn't even stand up for Colonels. It was exhausting drinking beer all night and having to get up at 5 a.m. to watch cleaning women empty the trash. I became an expert at the game of Hearts. After the army I went back to ISU and actually went to class. When I graduated I decided to go to Gonzaga and get my law degree. I was admitted to the bar in Idaho in 1977 and have practiced in Pocatello ever since. I did work for Governor Evans in Boise for two years in that time but mainly have been a Poky boy. I have two sons from my first marriage. Joe (22) is a student in Reno. He is getting married this summer to a nice girl who is going to medical school. Joe is a good boy who will surely take care of his dad in his old age, or at least his wife will. Matt is 20 and a student at ISU. I really couldn't have asked for two better kids and they couldn't have asked for more of my money. I am married to the former Debbie Gould and she has two kids of a prior marriage. Nic is 18 and Spud (Randy) is 13. Debbie works for a dentist in Poky. I look forward to seeing my old classmates and hope I am able to attend the Reunion.
Trueba, KenOriginally I started out in the class of ’65 but stayed back a year in 5th grade and moved to the class of 66. I was there until my last year of junior high and moved to Morrocco with my dad who was in the Air Force. I would like to get included in the class alumni if possible even if I didn’t get to graduate with the class and it would be great to get info on the reunion as I still know a lot of the class. I will give you a short synopsis of my life for your list: I grew up in Mountain Home until 1962 when I went to Morocco for 2 years on an Air Force base there. We moved back to Salina, Kansas for two years and then on to Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota. I finished my high school there and went on to study Physics at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. I met my wife Carol there and we were married in November of 1969. I left school for a couple of years and went into the Army and was stationed in Neu Ulm, Germany for 2 ˝ years. My two daughters Teresa and Amy were born there. We came back to South Dakota where I finished my BS in Physics and my MS in Electrical Engineering. I went to work for Hewlett Packard Co. in the spring of 1976 in Cupertino, California. 2 ˝ years later we moved to Corvallis, Oregon where we live today. We moved to Vancouver, Washington for 3 years in 1981 and to Barcelona, Spain for 2 ˝ years in 1995. While at HP I was instrumental in the development of the DeskJet print cartridge and the technology around it. My daughter Teresa is married and is a chemical engineer working for HP in Vancouver, Washington on inkjet technology. My daughter Amy is married and is working on her doctorate in planetary geology at Arizona State University. She spent part of last year downloading data from the Sprit Rover on Mars. An additional note, many of you have known my brother Howard who was in the class of 1967. We lost him to cancer in 1981, he was a great brother and friend and had a great love of life. A couple of years before he died he took up sailing and got to be well known as a competitive sailor in Dana Point, CA. When he died they set up a yearly memorial race in his name. Here is a link to the memorial web page: http://www.dpyc.org/race/hrbrchmp.htm As many of you may also know my father William Trueba was assistant principal there at the high school and later principal at the junior high. He and several of my brothers and my sister live there in town. I look forward to seeing all of you at the reunion.
Wooley, Chris (Lensmire)After graduating, Bonnie Hamada and I moved to Spokane, Wa. That lasted almost a year..(We were focused??)..Next move was to Moscow. I married Bob Terrell in 1967. We have two children, Ron and Shellie. Ron is married, has two children and resides in Ca. Shellie is married, has two children and lives in Milwaukee. Bob and I moved to Blackfoot Idaho in 1969. We moved to Wisconsin in 1974 and were later divorced. I have been married to Richard Lensmire since 1977 and we have one child who is presently a Sophmore in college. I am employed as a claims manager for Sentry Insurance.
